Music and the events industry is my passion! I’ve seen a lot of New York weddings. I’ve heard a lot of New York DJ’s and I wanted to take those experiences and create something new, more modern and more fun for my couples and clients because they deserve the best!
That’s the philosophy behind SoundFormula Entertainment. We make awesome weddings for awesome people without the ego and while staying authentic to who we really are. We take a modern “Boutique-Style” approach which means that we uniquely adjust our talent and services to fit your needs perfectly without ever being cookie cutter or basic. We customize everything we do to create the perfect vibe at your celebration.
ORIGINS IN MUSIC
I am proud to say that I was born in the vinyl era and still to this day, I am a huge vinyl record enthusiast with over 8,000 records in my personal listening collection and over 300,000 digital songs that help keep me prepared for just about any event! I started to DJ in the mid 90’s and actively earned a reputation in the Albany area from DJing local college parties and for my role as a DJ in a few local bands such as “Elements of Disaster”, “Triple Threat” (featured on Jason Keller’s “Big Break” radio show on 103.1 FM THE EDGE) and currently DJing for Albany’s Party Cover Band, “The Refrigerators”.
Since my earlier youth, I have always had an extreme love of music and have been completely enthralled by a very wide variety of musical genres. I always knew that someday, I would become a wedding DJ. Anyone can push play to start and stop one song and press play for the next song to begin, but what makes me stand out from the rest is my unique ability to actually mix songs of multiple genres together to keep guests of all ages dancing all night long.
DJ COMPETITIONS
In 2005, I began competing and show casing my compositional skills at various DJ competitions and conventions. Notably in 2005, I was able to compete in the Guitar Center Spin-off and I placed 1st in the preliminaries, second in the finals. Later in the year, I became affiliated with Globalscene Entertainment and competed in their DJ showcase which was held at The Forum performing arts center in Lake George, NY for their RMP / Americade Car show. With the help of a few good friends in the industry, I was able to DJ a few shows at local establishments such as Mad River, Lark Tavern, and BR Finleys (Positively 4th Street).
During this time I attended Hudson Valley Community College where I studied Fine Arts with an interest in Photography and was an active member in the schools radio broadcasting and adventure clubs along with my two good friends Jake Allen (100.9 TheCat) and Marissa Lanchak (Fly92.3). In 2007, I graduated from HVCC with a major in Fine Arts and spent a great amount of time traveling.
In 2011, my son was born and I returned to HVCC to study Construction Management while DJing weddings to support my new family and college expenses.
The Beginning Of SoundFormula Entertainment
In 2011, I chose to make my hobby of DJing a full time profession and further developed my business skills. I later became a member of the American Disc Jockey Association (ADJA) and trained with some of the area’s big names in wedding entertainment which has served me well in providing me the support to grow my business and help me provide excellent services to hundreds of my past and future couples and clients.
With years of ongoing learning and training, I have come to build what has now come to be known as the award winning SoundFormula Entertainment. My passion for entertaining and creating unique once in a lifetime events is apparent to just about anyone who takes the time to sit down and discuss their event with me. Whether it’s for the union of two people in love and the joining of their families at a Wedding, a Surprise Birthday Party, Sweet 16, Mitzvah, Corporate Event or Holiday Party, I understand the importance of having the best in Entertainment and offer that attention to detail to make that entertainment match your style and personality. My clients deserve to have the highest expectations of me, and I have earned my reputation by exceeding those expectations and always delivering on my promises. I have performed at over 1,000 wedding and promotional events while being awarded for outstanding performances by Weddingwire, The Knot, WeDJ and N.A.M.E (National Association of Music Entertainers).
